Hutton Le Hole

The Hole part of the village’s name refers to the fact that it is set in a natural hollow in the landscape.

The village is famous for its chocolate box buildings and its beautiful setting. Talking of chocolate, if you are visiting Hutton Le Hole, you should treat yourself some delicious chocolate from the small Chocolate Factory tucked just off the high Street. A great place to pick up presents to take back home – if they last that long”!

As well as being a great place to have a leisurely stroll around, there is Rydale Folk Musem and a good assortment of coffee shops and a local pub.

One of our favorite activities was to take the children down to the stream that runs through the centre of the village and let them have a paddle – especially good in hot weather.
