Robin Hood’s Bay

The picturesque old fishing village of  Robin Hood’s Bay is a brilliant place to visit if you like quaint cobbled streets, cosy cafes, tearooms and long sandy beaches.  It’s easy to imagine the network of streets being home to smugglers and fishermen.

Car parking is only available at the top of the hill. You then have quite a long, steep, walk down to the old village – but it’s worth the walk.

A favorite activity is to walk the length of the beach, to the south, looking for fossils in the rocks or sea glass in the sand.
